Register as a bingo promoter

Use this service to register as a bingo promoter with HMRC.

Who should register

You should register as a bingo promoter if you’re licensed to run bingo games.

You can register if you’re:

  • a sole trader
  • a partnership
  • a limited liability partnership (LLP)
  • a limited company
  • an unincorporated body

When to register

You must register at least 14 days before you want to trade. If you do not, you may have to pay a penalty.

What you’ll need

Sole traders

To register as a sole trader you must provide:

  • your full name (or your trading name, if this is different)
  • your VAT registration number
  • your Self Assessment Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR)
  • all of the addresses you plan to trade from
  • your estimated profit for the next 12 months

Partnerships and LLPs

To register as a partnership or LLP you must provide:

  • your full name (or your trading name, if this is different)
  • your VAT registration number
  • your Corporation Tax reference
  • all of the addresses you plan to trade from
  • your estimated profit for the next 12 months

Limited companies

To register as a limited company you must provide:

  • your trading name
  • your VAT registration number
  • your Corporation Tax reference
  • all of the addresses you plan to trade from
  • your estimated profit for the next 12 months

Unincorporated bodies

To register as an unincorporated body you must provide:

  • your trading name
  • your VAT registration number
  • your Corporation Tax reference
  • all of the addresses you plan to trade from
  • your estimated profit for the next 12 months

Register as a bingo promoter

To register, you need a Government Gateway user ID and password. If you do not have a user ID, you can create one when you register.

You can also register by post.

Email HMRC to ask for this form in Welsh (Cymraeg).

Before you start using the postal form

If you’re using an older browser, such as Internet Explorer 8, you’ll need to update it or use a different browser. Find out more about browsers.

You’ll need to fill in the form fully before you can print it. You cannot save a partly completed form so gather all your information together before you start to fill it in.

After you’ve registered

After you register, HMRC will send your registration number by post.
